Open as early as 1928, the Tall Chief Theater had a spacious stage to accommodate grand acts. Alex Tall Chief built the theater that served as a home to his two prima ballerina daughters, Maria and Marjorie Tall Chief. The theater itself, along with its world renowned dancers, served as a beacon of hope to the small town of Fairfax, Oklahoma and followed the Osage "reign of terror." The series of dark historic events were chronicled in the bestselling book, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage murders and the Birth of the FBI. Written by David Grann, the book has now been adapted for film and will be released in 2023 by Director Martin Scorsese and Apple Films.

TOURS
In-person, 1-hour tours will meet at the Tall Chief Theater and take you through the town of Fairfax, OK, providing inside information on locations mentioned in "Killers of the Flower Moon." Tours are designed by Osage Tribal member Joe and his wife Carol Conner, and are educational, informative, and culturally insightful. Book your tour here.
