History in the Making... When the Stars Came Out in Fairfax

Debuting in Cannes, France and since showcased in Tulsa, Killers of the Flower Moon is set to sweep the nation this October. AND, when it does, Fairfax, Oklahoma is going to be on the minds of folks who had never heard of us before!

Yep, here in Fairfax, we're preparing for company!! :)

Why, the week following the movie's debut in France, folks from France came calling and stopped in Treats - our local coffee shop!

In it for the long haul, the Fairfax Community Foundation continues to work diligently to raise funds to first, repair the roof on the historic Tall Chief Theater downtown, and second to restore its grandeur. We want to express our sincere gratitude to our donors who have supported us thus far, including Attorney General, Gentner Drummond and Blue Sky Bank of Fairfax and author of Killers of the Flower Moon, David Grann!

We are also blessed to have Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell working with us to promote and assist our efforts in the hopes of being able to see Fairfax capitalize on expected tourism interest. Stay tuned for more information on upcoming fundraising events and efforts. As always, good things are happening in Fairfax!

To stay in the know, follow the Tall Chief Theater on Facebook and Instagram, and subscribe to The Fairfax Chief. Just in case you haven't seen the trailer to the movie, we've included it at the bottom of this newsletter.

We'd ask you to please consider helping us restore this valuable piece of Fairfax history to have a space available for tourists, both now and in the future, to be able to truly experience Fairfax - at its best!

Just imagine with us - a completely restored Tall Chief Theater where Killers of the Flower Moon could be shown periodically and where meetings and events could take place in a beautifully restored historic venue - right in downtown Fairfax, Oklahoma where our history may have been dark, but our future is bright as day and looking up!

Thanks for reading along!
